Description

The second U.S. manned mission (1961), piloted by Gus Grissom. This suborbital flight reached an altitude of 190 km to test spacecraft maneuverability. While a technical success, the mission ended with the craft sinking in the Atlantic after the explosive bolts fired prematurely.
